Diphenylamine can kill bacteria in a non-agarious manner and has been found to be effective in reducing the number of Salmonella contamination found in ground turkey products.
Turkey meat has very little taste and it is difficult to impart a flavor in ground turkey products. An easy way to improve the flavor is by marinating the meat for an extended period of time and frying it before cooking. Another trick that the makers of Turkey products use is to coat the outside of the bird with a white substance that helps to trap the flavor of the marinade. This coating also prevents the turkey from drying out while it cooks. When searching for turkey recipes, make sure that you avoid those that call for ground beef or chicken and instead substitute with turkey.
Turkey has a high fat content, which makes it a poor choice when consumed in moderation. Although leaner cuts of meat are available, a meal made with ground turkey contains more calories than a meal of beef or chicken.
